Computers In The Workplace

 I am choosing the cybersecurity industry as this industry is very important to me. The last time that I was hacked really hit me hard and that is the reason that I'm going for cybersecurity as a degree. The function of computers in this industry is paramount as cybersecurity is mainly focused on protection against criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data, which not only includes the infrastructure of the United States that we have but also regular peoples' bank accounts, sensitive information relating to a person's identity, even location data of peoples' family members. 

Computers use cybersecurity methods in order to protect this data such as honeypots and honey wells which are used to trick criminals into thinking that they are hacking into a computer system's network but in reality, they are hacking into a fake one. It's extremely important for employees in this industry to be computer literate because without understanding the small intricacies of a network, a computer's software and its hardware, when something does end up happening in reference to a hack, all employees will understand what to do, even if they are not per se a cybersecurity professional seeing as cybersecurity firms have sales staff, accounting personnel, general clerks, etc. 

Overall, I believe that evolutions in computer hardware, operating systems, and networking will drastically impact the cybersecurity space over the next ten years by introducing newer methods of cyber protection, more patches for older operating systems, maybe even a new programming language. We will definitely see a change in the future and if we work hard, we may be the ones bringing about that change.
